An AI chatbot for WordPress trained on your own site

If your WordPress site is doing its job, the answers your visitors want are already published somewhere on it, buried across a hundred posts and pages nobody reads to the end. Paperchat trains on that content and answers from it in a sentence. It reads your pages, follows your sitemap, accepts uploaded documents and takes pasted text for the things you never got round to publishing. Connect the WordPress MCP plugin and it can also read posts and pages as they change, so a policy you updated this morning is being quoted correctly this afternoon. Installation is one script tag and the WordPress connection works on the free plan.

Do you cover septic tank inspections in your survey?

Performed actionWordPress

Yes, drainage and septic systems are included in the Level 3 survey, not the Level 2.

From your services page

What does the Level 3 cost?

It starts at £795 for a three bedroom property, with a quote after a short call.

Your archive becomes something people can actually use

Most WordPress sites accumulate years of useful writing that visitors never find, because finding it means guessing the right search term and then reading three articles. A trained agent turns that archive into a conversation: the visitor asks in their own words and gets the specific paragraph that answers them, with a link to the full piece if they want it.

Paperchat trains on your pages, posts and sitemap, on uploaded PDFs and documents, and on plain text you paste in. You can retrain a single source when something changes rather than rebuilding the whole thing.

How training works
  1. 1Paste your site address and Paperchat reads your pages
  2. 2Add a sitemap to pull in posts in bulk
  3. 3Upload PDFs, price lists or terms documents
  4. 4Paste text for anything not published on the site

Live answers from posts and pages, not a stale copy

Content sites change constantly, and an agent working from an old crawl will keep quoting a price you no longer charge. Installing the WordPress MCP plugin lets Paperchat read your posts and pages during the conversation, so what it quotes is what is currently published.

The plugin runs on your own install and is authenticated with a token you generate in the WordPress admin. You can revoke it at any time, and Paperchat only reads what the plugin exposes.

Works with any theme and any page builder

The widget is a single script tag, so it does not care whether you are running a block theme, a classic theme, Elementor or something custom built in 2016. Drop it in the footer or add it through a plugin that manages scripts and it appears on every page.

Colour, avatar, bot name, welcome message and the domains it is allowed to run on are all controlled from the Paperchat dashboard, so you are not editing theme files to change how it looks.

Putting it on the site
  1. 1Copy the script tag from your Paperchat dashboard
  2. 2Paste it into your theme footer or a script manager plugin
  3. 3Set the colour and welcome message in the dashboard
  4. 4Restrict it to your own domains with the allow list

Turn readers into enquiries

A visitor who has just had a question answered properly is the easiest enquiry you will ever get. On paid plans the agent can ask for a name and an email at the right moment in the conversation, and the lead arrives in your dashboard with the full transcript so you know what they were actually asking about.

When a question needs a person, the conversation hands over to your team in the same thread rather than dumping the visitor into a contact form and hoping they fill it in.

From answer to enquiry

Can you do this for a listed building?

Yes, we handle listed properties, though it needs a specialist visit first.

If you leave an email I will have someone send you the details.

sarah@example.com

Thank you. Someone will be in touch tomorrow with the specialist survey options.

Frequently asked questions

What an AI chatbot adds to a WordPress site

WordPress powers an enormous range of sites, from one page brochures to publications with fifteen years of archives, and the case for a chatbot is different at each end of that range. On a small site the value is availability: the enquiry that arrives at nine in the evening gets an answer instead of waiting until morning, and the visitor who would have bounced stays long enough to ask a second question. On a large content site the value is retrieval: your answers already exist, but nobody is going to read four articles to assemble them.

The important question when choosing a tool is where the answers come from. A chatbot that has been given a personality and a link to your homepage will improvise, and improvisation on a professional services site is a liability. Paperchat answers from a knowledge base you control: your pages, your sitemap, your uploaded documents and any text you paste in. If the answer is not in there, it says so rather than filling the silence.

For sites that change often there is a second layer. The WordPress MCP plugin lets the agent read your posts and pages during the conversation rather than working from a crawl taken weeks ago. This matters more than it sounds. Prices, opening hours, policies and availability are exactly the details people ask about, and they are exactly the details that change quietly. Reading live means a correction you publish in the morning is being quoted correctly by lunchtime, with no retraining step to remember.

Installation is deliberately unremarkable. The widget is one script tag that works with any theme or page builder, and the appearance is controlled from the dashboard rather than by editing template files. A domain allow list keeps the widget running only on sites you own. Nothing about the setup assumes a developer is available, which matters because on most WordPress sites one is not.

The last piece is what happens after a good answer. A visitor who has just been helped is receptive, and on paid plans the agent can ask for an email at that moment and pass a qualified enquiry to you with the full conversation attached. When a question genuinely needs a person, the handover happens in the same thread. That combination, answering the routine questions and escalating the real ones, is what turns a chat widget from decoration into something that carries weight on a working site.
