Webflow

An AI chatbot for Webflow that respects the design

Webflow sites are usually built by someone who cares how things look, which rules out most chat widgets on sight. Paperchat installs through Project Settings as a single custom code embed, and the widget colour, avatar, name and welcome message are all set in the dashboard so it can be matched to the brand rather than fought with. It trains on your published pages and CMS collections, answers visitors in seconds in more than 58 languages, captures leads for the client and escalates anything awkward to a human.

What is included in the brand identity package?

Logo suite, type and colour system, brand guidelines and social templates.

How long does it take?

Four to six weeks from kickoff, depending on how quickly rounds of feedback come back.

Added in Project Settings, not in the Designer

The embed goes into Project Settings, Custom Code, in the footer section, and applies across the whole site once you publish. Nothing is placed on the canvas, so the widget cannot interfere with your layout, your interactions or your breakpoints.

Because it lives outside the Designer, it also survives redesigns, page duplications and template changes. Handing a project over to a client does not require explaining where the chat component lives.

Adding it to Webflow
  1. 1Copy the script tag from your Paperchat dashboard
  2. 2Open Project Settings, then Custom Code
  3. 3Paste it into the footer code section
  4. 4Publish the site and the widget appears

It learns the CMS content, not just the static pages

A lot of a Webflow site's substance lives in CMS collections: case studies, services, team members, help articles. Paperchat reads your published pages, which includes the collection pages your CMS generates, so those answers are available to visitors who would never have clicked into them.

Add a sitemap to pull the whole site in bulk, upload PDFs for anything not on the web, and paste in the details a client tells you but never publishes. Retrain a single source when the content changes.

What it can read
  • Static pages

    Home, services, about, contact

  • CMS collection pages

    Case studies, articles, services

  • Sitemap

Pull the whole site in bulk

  • Documents and text

Anything not published on the site

Styled so it looks like part of the build

Widget colour, bot name, avatar, subtitle and welcome message are configured in the dashboard, so the chat can be matched to the palette and voice of the site rather than shipping in somebody else's blue.

On higher plans the Paperchat branding can be removed entirely, which matters when you are handing the site to a client who did not ask to advertise a third party tool.

What you can control
  • Colour

    Matched to the site palette

  • Bot name and avatar

    Client branded rather than generic

  • Welcome message

Useful whether the site is yours or a client's

For your own studio site, the agent answers scope, pricing and availability questions at the hours prospects actually browse, and captures the ones worth a call with the whole conversation attached.

For client work it becomes something recurring: retraining when their content changes, and a monthly report drawn from real transcripts showing what their customers asked and which pages failed to answer them.

A studio enquiry

Do you work with startups pre funding?

Yes, we run a fixed scope brand sprint for early stage teams.

What does that cost?

The sprint starts at £6,500. Leave an email and we will send the outline and next availability.

Frequently asked questions

Adding an AI chatbot to a Webflow site

Webflow occupies a particular niche: sites built by designers and studios, often for clients, where the visual result is the point. That context changes what a chatbot has to get right. It cannot fight the design, it cannot require rebuilding anything in the Designer, and on client work it cannot advertise a tool the client did not choose. Those constraints rule out a lot of the chat widgets on the market before the conversation quality is even considered.

Installation should be the least interesting part. Paperchat is a script tag pasted into Project Settings, Custom Code, in the footer section, applied when you publish. Because it lives outside the canvas it cannot interfere with layout, breakpoints or interactions, and it survives page duplications, template swaps and full redesigns. Handover to a client does not involve explaining where a chat component is hiding.

Training is where Webflow sites have an advantage. A well built Webflow project usually has real substance in its CMS collections, case studies, service pages, help articles, that visitors rarely dig through. Paperchat reads published pages including collection pages, so that material becomes answerable in a sentence. You can add a sitemap to ingest the site in bulk, upload documents for anything unpublished, and paste in the specifics a client tells you on a call but never puts on the site.

Appearance is configurable from the dashboard rather than in code: colour, bot name, avatar, subtitle and welcome message, with branding removal on higher plans. For studio work that last point is the difference between a chatbot that reads as part of the build and one that reads as a bolt on. Each site also has a domain allow list, so a script tag copied from a client's page cannot be reused on someone else's site.

The recurring value is worth planning for if you build for clients. A chatbot degrades as content changes, so retraining is natural retainer work, and the conversation log is the most honest research a client will see: the questions their visitors actually asked, in their visitors' own words, and the pages that failed to answer them. That turns a one off deployment into a monthly conversation about content, which is usually where the next piece of work comes from.
